Владимир Колбасов

1bio (230x153, 18Kb) Владимир Колбасов родился в городе Ленинграде в 1960 г. Основам акварельной техники начал обучаться с 1973 в Городской художественной школе под руководством Антонова Г. Н.. В 1984 году закончил Академию художеств СССР, мастерскую профессора Фомина И.И..  До 1999 г. работал в Комитете по градостроительству и архитектуре Санкт-Петербурга главным художником Василеостровского района. В 2002 году как художник-постановщик участвовал в съемках художественного фильма "Петерболд", где также сыграл одну из ролей. Член Союза Художников России. За плечами питерского художника Владимира Колбасова многочисленные персональные выставки, которые проходили и проходят с неизменным успехом, последняя прошла в 2011 году Выставочном Центре Союза Художников России. Картины находятся в частных собраниях Россия, Германии, Австрии, США, Израиля, Англии, Китая, Канады, Чехии, Польши.

Sir John Everett Millais (1829 – 1896) | Autumn Leaves.

Современники называли Миллеса “падшим ангелом живописи”, но коллекционеры платили за его работы баснословные деньги, а для того, чтобы заказать ему портрет, желающие выстраивались в очередь. Творческий путь художника не был легким и прямолинейным. В молодые годы Джон Миллес был “бунтарем от искусства” и активно боролся с традиционными подходами к живописи, которые отстаивала и пропагандировала Академия художеств. Но к концу жизни взгляды его существенно изменились, и его даже избрали президентом Академии художеств.

Chidi Okoye | Healing Dance

 

We've been engulfed in a dance of hate to appease self swam in pools of confusion
to find solace cultivated in land of vengeance, to be at peace and dread the harvest of sin. 
We have drowned spirit of joy to create sorrow and solitude of self in attempt to stay king in world of selfishness 
Stepped on souls of meek and weak brutalized heads on our way to the top to be rewarded by nature. 
Look up to the moon and sacred mountains of the sky. Listen to the songs of sacred land.
Feel the healing wind of sea. Step into the vibrations of energizing songs of sun.
Let's dance beyond rhythm of sorrow. Lift our legs and hands in praise of life.
Dance to the wind of drums for the rejuvenation of souls.

Chidi Okoye

Nigerian born Chidi A. Okoye graduated with a distinction in sculpture from the Institute of Management and Technology in Enugu, Nigeria, in 1988. For the next six years he taught sculpture and drawing at Federal Polytechnic Oko, Anambra State, Nigeria. During this period, he created an outstanding collection, not only sculpting, but painting and writing as well.  Okoye is as famous for his poetry as for his painting and sculpture. In 1994 Okoye moved to Vancouver, Canada, where he immediately became involved in a number of projects promoting international artistic exchange and was a leading light in the local Black creative community. Okoye believes that his art offers him a chance of relating to his environment, complementing the beauty of nature with man-made forms and images, which spring from his ancestral culture. He combines the strength, uniqueness and dynamism of his heritage with a technically skilled understanding of the power of forms, feeling and materials to create works, which continue to thrill audiences. The wide appeal of his works seems to lie in its identifiably African approach to colours and lines, but with an ability to turn his distinctive style to a wide rage of subjects. Okoye’s paintings and sculpture have been praised for their capacity to raise awareness of important socio-political issues without resorting to militancy.
