Anoniem (1125)
This cheerful figure was found in St Mary's church in Utrecht. It was cast by an unknown artist in bronze in the twelfth century. The costume is rather unusual: the figure is wearing a pointed hat and sort of jabot, while the cloak is tied together with an ornately knotted belt. On the left shoulder is a kind of wing: another probably once extended from the other shoulder too. The lower half of the figure is now lost, as are the hands. rijksmuseum.nl
